Role Overview: We're on the hunt for a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to fuel our growth and bring fresh, innovative clients into the fold. As our BDM, you’ll be the driving force behind generating new business opportunities, nurturing relationships, and turning leads into loyal partners. You’ll use your sharp communication skills, industry know-how, and relentless energy to identify key prospects, pitch game-changing strategies, and help our agency grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cold outreach and lead generation. Use various channels (calls, emails, LinkedIn, networking) to initiate contact with potential clients and generate leads.
- Lead qualification and pipeline management. Qualify leads based on their alignment with our services and strategic goals, ensuring a high-quality pipeline that drives consistent revenue growth. Provide regular updates on pipeline status, lead progression, and financial forecasting to senior leadership.
- Arranging speaker opportunities for the CEO and the Managing Director. The goal here is to get our agency in front of new clients at industry events and generate networking opportunities.
- Proposal development. Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and pitches that highlight the agency’s strengths, including social media expertise, campaign strategies, and ROI.
- Negotiation & closing contracts. Lead contract discussions, negotiate terms, and close deals that benefit both the client and the agency, ensuring long-term success and profitability.
- Revenue growth and achieving targets. You will collaborate with senior leadership to define ambitious sales goals and KPIs that drive revenue growth, and actively monitor progress to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
- Reporting. Regularly report on sales activities, lead conversion, and business development performance, using data to refine strategies and improve results.
- Market and competitor analysis. You will monitor industry trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of the curve, identifying new opportunities, emerging threats, and gaps in the market. By analysing competitor strategies, pricing, and positioning, you’ll provide actionable insights that help shape the agency’s offerings, refine our value proposition, and ensure we maintain a competitive edge.
- Research and development. This will include researching new geographical territories for business outreach, exploring opportunities for innovation, and producing research decks for senior leadership to consider.
- Supporting team-wide efforts to generate new business opportunities. Collaborate with the team to drive business growth. This could involve actively contributing to our social media platforms, creating engaging content and participating in digital campaigns that attract potential clients.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in business development or sales (preferably in social media, digital marketing, or a related field).
- Strong understanding of social media marketing, digital campaigns, and trends in the social media space.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Confident with copywriting and using social media for business development, e.g. writing LinkedIn posts about our recruitment, proactively producing posts about our work culture across our social media platforms, highlighting BD wins to our audiences.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
- Ability to craft compelling proposals and deliver presentations to prospective clients.
- Knowledge of content creation, paid ads, SEO, or influencer marketing is advantageous.
